Hi. I’m Deepti (DHEEP-thee) and I describe myself as jumbo shrimp: an oxymoron. As a soft-spoken leader, a Bengali-Ohioan and a little but bold person — every day, I navigate my nuances in a world that survives on uniformity. But there are a few things I know for sure.
I try to center creativity, intentionality and intersectionality in my communications work. While I am focused on the climate, environmental justice and policy movement, I am always down for a conversation on pop culture with a plate of shrimp fried rice. And my perfect day includes French press coffee, the outdoors, watching a movie, listening to Lauryn Hill and re-reading Jhumpa Lahiri’s The Namesake .
I always dreamed I would live, work and play in Chicago. And for four+ years, I did just that.
I’m now based in San Diego, building a new life here, and working as a digital manager for Fossil Free Media. 📧 deeptihossain@gmail.com
